World's #8 Best Fast Food Restaurant: The Pentagon Subway
#8 on the list is the Subway at the Pentagon. Why, you ask? The list's authors say it's because you have to have a security clearance to get through the doors. Which, incidentally, isn't actually true. You just have to have a friend who has a security clearance who invites you to each lunch with them at the Pentagon, as zaf can attest to. The rest of the list includes Arby's in Hickory, N.C., which attracts more than 1,000 bikers to hang out there weekly; a Burger King in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which boasts "sky-high ceilings, intricate wood moldings and multiple chandeliers" as it is in the former residence of a wealthy Argentina family, and a McDonald's in Pitea, Sweden, which boasts a drive through window for your snowmobile. The full list is below:
We have a feeling the lists's writers were after something a bitter different than we would be. For one, we'd be considering food taste, which would knock, well, everybody, off the list. We've probably re-write it to include Chipotle, In-N-Out Burger, and Five Guys, at least. » Linking Fool Friday (Fitzmas Edition) from FoolBlog Tracked on October 28, 2005 3:02 PM CommentsErr...the Pentagon Subway would be in Arlington, not DC... Posted by: Michael at October 23, 2005 12:26 PM Chik-Fil-A'd top my list. Posted by: MJF at October 23, 2005 5:44 PM From my repository of useless knowledge, did you know that Chick Fil A's are never allowed to be open on Sunday, because the company's founder was devoutly religious? Posted by: amg at October 24, 2005 2:14 AM Chik-fil-A = most overrated fast food restaurant on Earth. Posted by: Jake at October 24, 2005 12:41 PM Ah, you underestimate the power of their chicken. Yes, Amg, their Sunday policy has been a royal pain in my butt on several occasions, as I always forget they won't be open. Posted by: MJF at October 25, 2005 2:55 PM You mean the chicken that looks and tastes exactly like the various "fried" "chicken" products at McDonald's? Oh, the victims of cutesy marketing... Posted by: Jake at October 27, 2005 10:22 AM Since when is fast food only massive chain food? And, yeah, Arlington is not DC. That drives me crazy. Posted by: Evzilla at October 30, 2005 9:50 PM Why Subway? The Pentagon also includes, among others, McDonald's, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut (Express), TOGO, and Domenic's of New York, in addition to 2 Subway outlets. And 2 Dunkin Donuts. And 2 Baskin Robbins.
